What do you do.......

I know what you are all thinking WOW Yvonne sure has been doing some blogging over the past few days, and two posts in one day as well. Well I just had to take a photo of our cat Smokey, he is 7 1/5 mths old and the most placid cat you could get (that's when he isn't psycho).

BUT what do you do when you can't find anywhere to sleep, even there is a whole house to sleep in? You sleep in a basket that's what you do. I'm not sure what the fascination with the basket or for that matter my crafting space but whenever I'm crafting Smokey is somewhere very close. It's either in the table, climbing my chair, playing with the ribbon (or my feet) etc, etc.

Good to be HOME!!

It's great to be back home after spending a wonderful week in Taupo. It's the proper holiday that we have had in about 5 years and it was GREAT. When in a tourist town like Taupo you have to do the touristy things so we did. The highlight for me was Prawn fishing (as I was the only one of us to catch anything) LOL. It was great fun but you have to have alot of patience as it can take a
very long time to hook a prawn.

We went to Lilliput farm (I know we are farmers) but when you are on holiday you still have to get the animals in, and Alex loved it. He especially loved it when the Kune Kune piglets came right up to him as they got out of there paddock. I tried to pick one up but the squealing was just too much (lol).

Off we went again to the Volcanic Centre, I would recommend this place as you learn just how far the Taupo Volcanic zone goes - all the way to White Island. Huka Falls are just amazing with thousands of litres of water going through the Falls per second. There was more water than normal going through the falls as Sunday and Monday the rain just fell out of the sky and was so wet.

This is a photo of Alex swimming at De Bretts Thermal Pools. We decided to take Alex on a surprise and went up to the pool one evening. He absolutely loved it, he had fallen off his scooter a few days earlier and scraped his leg. I tole him that if he got in the green mineral pools that his sore would heal. He did and now its just about gone.

What have I been doing?

Well the calving season is well behind me now and AB has finished, and now I am out of the cowshed YEA!!!!! I have found time to stamp and I even took attend a class where I was a participant and it was great. I teach a card class once a month and I was fortunate to be able to attend a craft morning with these wonderful ladies. We did what is called a reversed canvas, really easy loads of fun and very messy ink, glue everywhere.
I also entered some paper crafts into the local A & P show and got 1st, 2nd and 3rds, in 3 catergories which was fab. Also took out the Banana Cake competition. Alexander my nearly 7 yr old has been busy also at the A&P show coming 1st with his cupcakes and also took his lambs Harry and Hermione. Harry was a laugh, but Hermione was the winner on the day coming 3rd Best Pet Land and 3rd Best (fancy) dressed, the theme was recycling. I will place some photos of Alex and Hermione on here soon.
